Atala Hairstreak

Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Blues, Coppers and Hairstreaks » Atala Hairstreak

Atala was once thought to be extinct but seemingly local people potentially saved the butterfly by planting Coontie in their yards.  The butterfly is stunning and can now be found in South Florida in parks and suburbs.
