Spring Azure (Celestrina ladon) is the main part of this species, but there may well be Summer Azures (Celastrina ladon neglecta) flying later in the season. It is seen throughout most of the USA in clearings and open trails and paths as well as some gardens.
Blue on the upper surface and variable on the under surface. All have bands of black spots on a very light background varying in size and intensity. Conspicuously missing are any ‘eyes’ on the edge of the hind-wing.
Typically they fly low to the ground and continuously, stopping rarely.
