It can be found in Florida in many locations but is more common the further south you go.  It can be seen as slightly similar to the Tawny-edged and Crossline but the underside  is uniquely marked. It is darker with a lighter curved band.  It also has a long bright orange ‘shoulder’ on the underside forewing.  Tends to be smaller and remains low to the ground flitting around low growing nectar plants.
