The Coral Hairstreak is widespread across the US but does not usually reach as far down as the Gulf of Mexico. It’s range stops at Central Georgia . There are small pockets of the hairstreak in the north of Florida, but here it is not common. It loves to nectar on butterfly weed. It will often be so focused on the nectar it will become completely unaware of how close you get to it.
