A Northern US species extending from Maine to Washington State. Also extending from the mid-west to the Western Seaboard.  An early flier from Spring to Summer.  Loves mud pools.

It is gray underneath with a single row of spots on fore and hind wings. It is bright blue above, except the female is less bright blue or even brown.
