Nymphalidae
A very large group of butterflies that includes many of the larger butterflies so many people know and love. It is a very variable group of families of butterflies. Several of them are known for their annual Migrations such as the Monarch the Painted Lady, Common Buckeye, American Lady, Red Admiral, Question Mark, Mourning Cloak.
- They are also known as Four-footed butterflies as they walk on 4 legs only and curl the smaller two hairy front legs up out of the way. The front legs are the ones that get the family its name Brush-foot as they are short and hairy like a brush.
