An extremely large group of butterflies that includes many species seen on flowers nectaring in the sun. The Spread-Wing Sub-family have larger members who typically land and nectar or sun with their wings wide open.  The Grass Skippers are typically smaller with many using grasses as their food plant.  There are several members of the Skipperling Sub-family, all small individuals.  The Giant Sub-family has several very large skippers, not a family with many members.
