A southeastern Skipper of coastal regions, being less common the further inland you go. It is a common sight in Florida. The male is ‘orangy’ and has bold black edges to the underwing, easily see when resting or necarting in the ‘Jet-plane’ position. It also has a bold stepped black marking from body to wing tip on the forewing, the ‘stigma’. The female has large blotchy spots on the underwing ans id ‘browner’ in color.
