The Dorantes has a similar range to the Long-tailed Skipper other than much more restricted to the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts not venturing much further north at all. They are shaped and behave similarly to the Long-tailed but in coloration it differs by having no green on the body. There are a few pattern differences too on the underside of the wings, but the lack of green body is the main identifier at an intial level.
