Not at all common in Florida. The range stops typically at the north GA border arcing round to TX.  Much more ‘Common’ in the east, and over to the very northwest of the country.  The fringes of this skipper are strongly checkered.  Frequently has a white triangular mark on the forewing underside, but this is variable.  Not visible in the specimen shown below.
