Until recently the Dainty Sulphur had been missing from the general Tallahassee, FL area. It was/is still very numerous in Central FL and the South. It is also more common in the central southern and south western states. For some unexplained reason it became less common the more recently is becoming more common again. It’s caterpillars use one of the more available weeds in the Big Bend area, Bidens Alba. The butterfly is the size or a little smaller than a Little Yellow and flies at least as low to the ground with a slower bouncing flight. It has dark fore-wing tips and a dark thin bar arcoss the middle of the upper wing surface. the underside is very grainy and colorful
