Dukes’ Skipper

Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Skippers » Grass Skippers » Eastern/Orange Skippers » Dukes’ Skipper

Much less common than the Dion. It’s range is smaller and is more restricted to coastal areas but does just get into the Big Bend Area.  It is identified by a pale ray on the underside of the hindwing that runs from the body to the edge of the hind wing.  The forewing also has a black edge in the top corner.
