Elada Checkerspot

Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Brushfoot Family of Butterflies » Brushfoot Page 2 » Elada Checkerspot The Elada is a tiny Checkerspot found largely in the southern areas in western states, not quite extending as far west as California.  It is frequently found with the ‘Tiny Checkerspot’.   They are very similar appearance with the Elada generally having darker black areas on the forewing upper surface and missing the Tiny’s lighter area.  The hind underwing is more clearly banded.
