Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Skippers » Giant-Skippers 2 Giant-Skippers can be found in the Big Bend area if Florida.  The Yucca and the Cofaqi.  The Yucca is seen in many southern states from CA to FL.  It is usually found in areas with Yucca. They are not frequently seen even when they are somewhat common. They fly in spring only and frequently perch on tree trunks. The Cofaqui is very southeastern based in the Yucca areas too but it rarely observed as it tends to fly at dawn and dusk.  It has visual similarities to the Yucca in that it is large dark on top with yellow spots and below largely unmarked.  The Yucca is darker than the Cofaqui
