Gray Hairstreak

This is the most widespread and common hairstreak butterfly. It ranges coast to coast and from the Gulf to Canada Any gray looking hairstreak seen in suburban situations is probably a Gray Hairstreak, but check it out. The males will sit waiting for females on branches and twigs until dusk. It flies most of the year .
