Great Spangled Fritillary

Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Brushfoot Family of Butterflies » Brushfoot Page 1 » Great Spangled Fritillary

Very widespread and very conspicuous in the Eastern states, other than the southern Gulf States. As with all Fritillaries it is an Orange colored butterfly with black markings.  Its underside is more brown and cream.  It is a strong flier that loves open meadows and Roadsides.
