A very noticeable southern butterfly that flourishes in high numbers along the Gulf Coast, the whole of the Florida peninsula and most of Texas heading south into Mexico. Loves gardens with nectar plants. It uses Passion Vine as a host plant for its caterpillars. The upper wings are mainly a bright orange/brown in color with small amounts of black markings. The under-surfaces are splashed with bright white and silver on an orange background.
