This is a southern butterfly ranging from Southern Florida to The Panhandle and across into Texas and down into Mexico. It can be found also in AZ and NM.  It also ranges less frequently north into several of the Central US States.  This butterfly has a ‘Poodles’ face outlined in Black on the fore-wing  of the male, the female has no such markings.  However they both have a very hooked and pointed fore-wing apex and a pink edge to the undersides of the wings.
