Three-spotted Skipper
Home » Florida Photographic Butterfly Guide » Skippers » Grass Skippers » Hesperiinae »
Only seen in the very south of Florida. It can be common locally in certain areas, liking the edges of woodland areas. The name unfortunately does not imply complete unique identification unfortunately. The Three-spotted Skipper is somewhat similar to the Eufala Skipper which can also found in this same area. The three-spotted has longer antenna, brighter markings and darker underneath. This example was seen resting or sunning on big leaves at the side of a trail.
